HELP YOUR COMMUNITY AND EVERYONE WINS!

  1. Manage or organize a community service project during the month of July that will benefit a group or someone in your community. Choose an idea from the list below or think of something of your own.

  2. Complete the Kids In Action Project Sheet and submit it with photos of your project in action. Prizes will be awarded to the top three (3) entries, including one (1) grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will receive $150 for themselves AND $150 for their favorite charity.

  3. Project sheets and photos must be turned in to your Jeanne D’Arc branch by Saturday, July 31, 2010. Open to youth ages 8—14.

Project Ideas:

  • Organize a food, clothing, or school supply drive in your neighborhood
  • Make/sell lemonade, cards, cookies, jewelry, etc., donate profits to a charity
  • Tutor a younger child
  • Organize a collection for children receiving treatment at a local hospital
  • Help an elderly neighbor with yard work (raking, weeding, etc.)
  • Collect recyclable bottles from neighbors and take them to a recycling center
  • Gather gently used books to donate
  • Organize a park/playground cleanup day
  • Collect pet supplies (food, blankets, etc.) and donate them to an animal shelter

* Getting some friends together to help out will make any task easier (and more fun!) to accomplish. Also, make sure to get approval from a parent/guardian before you begin your project.
